Erin Orcutt
Artist Bio
Erin Orcutt’s inspiration comes from the beauty of nature and the flowers and trees she sees around her. It also comes from the emotions she's feeling that day. Happy might mean bright colors and sad could mean the use of dark shadows. She likes working with acrylics and creating ceramics, as well as mixed media. Her favorite piece, yet unnamed, is one she just finished with a heart surrounded by different textured pieces. Another favorite is her first mixed-media piece completed at IA is called Bluebonnets, where she did some ripping up of paper for the leaves and acrylic for the stems. It's interesting how she found Imagine Art. One day while riding Metro Access she met a gregarious artist, John Molina, who invited her to visit IA because he thought she'd love it. It's totally fun, he told her. So she took his advice and now she loves it, too.
