Peer Support at Imagine Art
As we transition into the Live+Make campus, we are re-imagining our peer support program. We are adopting TCDDs definition of peer support - "Using person-centered principles, peer support specialists can provide objective encouragement, guidance, listening, teaching, suggestions, and a bridge to other community support."
We envision the artists of Imagine Art being repositioned as leaders within the organization. We aim to equip our artists to serve one another in ways that transform lives and promote systems change.
Our Peer Support program offers the following types of activities:
Peer Support Open Group Share - that follow our curriculum’s 8 essentials for group meetings.
Peer led Classes - that build knowledge, skill and opportunity.
1:1 Peer Coaching - to navigate life’s challenges.
Peer Pop-Ups -self care gatherings w/ opportunity for 1:1 coaching.
Peer Socials - pure fun that gathers and connects peers.
Check out our Events Page for all upcoming peer support events.
Email peers@imagineart.net if you want to be added to our mailing list.
Are you a Peer Support Specialist?
Our AmeriCorps Job Readiness Program plans to identify 6-8 individuals with disabilities who will receive training and development as Peer Support Specialists, representing Imagine Art. We will be releasing an application this fall.
