AmeriCorp is America’s National Service initiative. Through AmeriCorps, individuals of all ages and backgrounds address the nation's education, public safety, environment, and/or human needs through service. AmeriCorps and the OneStar Foundation provide national and state support for this artist-in-residence program at Imagine Art.
About The Program
Since September 2019, Imagine Art AmeriCorps service members have empowered artists with disabilities to equally access arts opportunities alongside their non-disabled peers by teaching job readiness skills and providing a full spectrum of support including design, production, exhibition, and micro-business development.
Each service year, Imagine Art AmeriCorps service members serve, in full- and half-time capacities, as Artists-in-Residence to instruct art classes and mentor our artists with disabilities in our community towards professional engagement in the arts. Imagine Art AmeriCorps service members also engage in providing support for Peer-to-Peer activities and Person-Centered Planning and other Supports provided through our Waiver Program.
Imagine Art AmeriCorps Members serve at either the St. Luke Studio, 1611 W. 14th Street, Austin, TX 78703 or Evergreen Studio, 1701 Evergreen, Austin, TX 78704, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
