Holiday Bazaar

Featuring photos by Madison Raye

‘Twas a fortnight before Christmas and the merriment had just begun,   Imagine Art was about to embark on some magical fun;

The paintings were hung with exquisite care, All level and plumb, no wall was left bare;

Ceramics were shiny, looking their  best, To attract gift seeking neighbors at this Holiday fest;

For munching there were cold cuts and veggies, cheeses as well as fruit, With coffee and waters, and candy canes to boot;

The artists were snug next to their bios and signs, While visions of art sales danced in their minds;

Rick in his Christmas cap that the Missus had bought, Played Jasmine and Tia a game of Corn Hole—the one that he’d brought;

Christina demonstrated Corn Husk angels with glittering wings, And John showed how to paint t-shirts with bling;

From Holiday Cards on a make-shift tree to paintings on walls, Ceramic pieces, decorations, 3D and more—Imagine Art made it all;

Buyers examined each sparkling, hand-made piece of art, Marveled at Larin’s fleet, Ebony’s menorahs, Steven’s horses—and that was just the start;

There was so much more: Billy’s books & John’s abstracts, Angela’s Avatar, duds by Sophie and Julia—not off the rack;

When all was said and done, IA made some money and had much fun;

So, from Rick and the AmeriCorps Members (before we all take flight), “Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!”

Imagine Art takes this opportunity to thank its steadfast supporters and sponsors for making this event possible. Many thanks to St. Luke United Methodist Church and Pastor Jackie Freeman for allowing us access to the Fellowship Hall; as well as AmeriCorps, OneStar Foundation, and the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin Economic Development Department. And to Debbie Kizer, our inspiration, may you continue in your recovery!
