Tillery Awards and Developments

Imagine Art has been awarded $297,000 from the Austin Housing Finance Corporation to support pre-development of our Live+Make campus! We have finalized development agreements to establish our limited partnership with both MRE Capitol and Citrine Development, who joined as a HUB partner for the project. The Texas Department of Housing & Community Affairs (TDHCA) is planned as a primary funding source and the application to utilize 4% tax dollars will be submitted in the winter/spring of 2022. The Austin Housing Finance Corporation is planned to provide gap funding, with a request of approximately $3.5 million to finalize the project’s budget. The current timeline expects closing and permitting to occur in the summer of 2022 and the project plans to break ground as early as fall/winter of 2022. It is expected that the project will take 18 months, at minimum, to build and that the final occupancy permits will be secured in the spring/summer of 2024. The creative space will be developed concurrently and Imagine Art is requesting $400,000 from the City of Austin’s Cultural Trust in efforts to outfit the studio with additional windows, lighting, plumbing and electrical that will support operations.
