Touring The Central Library
On October 24, we had an exciting peer support popup at the Austin Central Library downtown which opened in 2018 and has six floors.
We had a librarian give us a tour of the library and visited each of the six floors. The entrance main to the library is located on the second level on Shoal Creek and it has an area for special events and its designed bleacher style as a seating area. Doors lead outside to an outdoor amphitheater. The second floor also has a large open reading area,
The third floor is dedicated to the children's section and the fourth teen has fiction and fiction. The fifth floor has an Innovation Lab (makerspace) On the sixth floor there is a rooftop reading deck with views of the city. Each floor also has various collections of books, study areas, and computer stations depending on the focus of the level.
