KIRTI SINHA
Artist Bio
Kirti Sinha is a self-taught Asian Indian painter who produces highly stylized and distinct art. She works in a variety of mediums including acrylic, oil, and even paints on glass. New to Austin, her interest has always been Indian folk art. Zentangle and Indian rangoli are two of her specialties because these genres play right into her love of folk art. When she lived down under, she got involved in aboriginal art, “Which is very near to dot painting.” Her techniques and style are influenced by both India and Australia. Texture is important to her. When viewers can appreciate the texture in her paintings, she knows she has achieved her goal. To help create a bigger market for her work, Kirti tries to make more people aware of Indian folk and aboriginal art.
