Larry Yanez Sr. is a deaf artist native to Sugarland, Texas, who uses his artistic gifts to glorify God. He is a formally trained artist who received many distinctions while enrolled in Austin Community College. Yanez has had his studio space at Imagine Art since 2017.

Yanez works with a variety of mediums with a focus on oils and acrylics. His primary subject matter is landscape and portraiture, evoking, the unique style of the American Southwest through studies of native plants and animals, and of traditional indigenous culture. Yanez’s work displays his love for his culture, and he says that his goal is to make the viewer feel both humbled and inspired. His travels are the inspiration for his paintings; from the Red Rock Mountains of Sedona to the view of the Colorado River in downtown Austin.
