Imagine Art and AmeriCorps Set Up Ceramic Exhibition and Peace Poles at St. Luke

Imagine Art and AmeriCorps were on full display June 5th. The occasion was the unveiling of the community Peace Pole project and the opening of the St. Luke Ceramic Exhibition. The event started with brief speeches by Imagine Art’s founder Debbie Kizer, St. Luke Pastor Bonnie How, and Rick Hernandez, AmeriCorps director—then the big reveal. A special performance of Soundground! an outdoor, interactive music installation was performed by Density 512.

The main focus of this blog post, however, is to show the set up of the event by hard working AmeriCorps members, complete with some pomp at the end. Most of the photos are chronological and self explanatory. Not shown are some of the members who helped get the project to this point. Everybody had a role to play during this months’ long push. But, the photos show what AmeriCorps does best—getting the job done!
